Heat-transfer printing works well for adding or customizing prints on fabrics such as athletic uniform numbers, names, logos, short-run orders or 1 or 2 color designs. Heat-transfer printed images are durable, heat resistant, adhesive and even water resistant!
Our Heat Transfer Process
Heat printing, also known as heat transfer printing, is the process of applying heat transfer materials to apparel with a heat press. The heat transfer printing process uses a method which requires a careful combination of heat and pressure. Heat-applied materials, referred to as transfer films, contain a heat-sensitive adhesive on one side. When heat is applied by a heat press to the material, the material adheres to the substrate to which it is being applied. But before the custom image can be applied to the garment it must be custom cut from a roll of transfer film using a cutter/plotter machine. Once the design is cut, the excess material is “weeded” away by hand. It is then applied to the garment using our commercial heat press.
